At lede et team af vidt forskellige medarbejdere er svært, det tager længere tid og det kan være frustrerende. Men det giver også et langt bedre resultat fordi dine meninger, ideer og beslutninger som leder perspektiveres og vendes og drejes på en helt anden måde end hvis du leder en gruppe af mennesker, der ligner dig selv. Man kan måske lidt provokerende sige, at det slet ikke er ledelse ’bare’ at lede et team af folk der ligner en selv. Det er dog stadig en tillært og fast indgroet tendens hos os alle sammen at vælge folk, der ligner os selv og ikke siger os for meget imod når vi skal sætte et team eller rekruttere en ny medarbejder. Og det er menneskeligt, for vores hjerners short-cuts vil gerne hjælpe os med at tage de nemme beslutninger. Så vi har brug for at ’out-smarte’ vores hjerner og vores mavefornemmelse - og det gør vi nemmest ved at designe vores processer herefter.

For Thai accounting graduate Nontawach (Ta) Soonthornsorn, pursuing a sustainability career meant leaving behind a promising role at PwC in Bangkok. Frustrated by the limited sustainability landscape in Thailand, Ta sought a deeper, more practical education abroad—eventually landing at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), home to Scandinavia’s only full-time MBA with a dedicated sustainability focus.
