About the course
Change management often fails because the focus is on the goal without considering where the organisation is and how it got there in the first place. In this course, we focus on achieving change through sensemaking, where continuity plays a vital role. Sensemaking occurs in the interaction between all employees and leaders and is the foundation for gaining support for changes, so they are translated into action across the organisation.
This course is not a review of all approaches to change management but is anchored in a process-theoretical understanding of how organisations and people function. A central idea in the course is that an organisation moves from the past to the present towards the future, and the success of change efforts is strongly linked to how meaningful they are perceived by all employees.
NOTE: This is the English version of the course 'Organisation og forandring'.
